    Description

    Boone County Public Works is soliciting competitive bids for the purchase of up to two (2) new, current-model 20-ton power tilt trailers. Pursuant to KRS 45A.170, the 2026 Eager Beaver 20XPT is established as the "basis of design" for this solicitation.
     
    Items offered as "equal" to this specification will be considered, provided the bidder includes sufficient technical information and supporting documentation within their proposal to assure the County that the substitute:
    1. Is at least equal in quality, durability, strength, and design;
    2. Will perform at least equally the function imposed by the general design for the item being procured; and
    3. Conforms substantially to the detailed requirements for the item as outlined in these specifications.
     
    The County reserves the sole right to determine if a proposed equivalent meets these criteria.  Failure to submit the required Equivalent Product Documentation for equal or substitutions will be considered a non-responsive bid.
