NOTICE INVITING BIDS - The City of Chico will receive sealed bids at 965 Fir Street, Chico, CA 95928 until 1:00 p.m. (Pacific Standard Time) on February 20, 2026 at which time the bids will be opened and read aloud. Once the results have been determined by staff, bid results may be obtained on the Public Purchase website under Bid # 2026 – CITY HALL WINDOW COVERINGS RE-BID. GENERAL WORK DESCRIPTION – This project consists of removal and replacement of ninety-three (93) manual operating interior, chain driven dual shade light-filtering and room darkening roller shades, operating independently of each other in all windows of rooms and spaces, at the City of Chico Municipal Center (411 Main Street, Chico CA 95928). Adjust and balance roller shades to operate smoothly, easily, safely, and free from binding, tracking or malfunction throughout entire operation range. The Contractor shall provide all necessary permits, labor, materials and required equipment to complete said work. The term of the Contract shall be 120 days from issuance of Notice to Proceed. Questions and Requests for Information regarding the project must be submitted through the Public Purchase bid site. Responses to questions will be posted on the bid site. Questions and Requests for Information must be submitted by 1:00 P.M. five (5) calendar days prior to bid opening. INSURANCE; BONDS REQUIRED - The bidder to whom a Contract is awarded will be required to furnish to the City evidence of insurance coverage(s) in full compliance with the provisions of the Contract documents. At the City’s discretion, a Performance Bond and/or Labor & Materials Bond may be required. LICENSING REQUIREMENTS – The Contractor shall possess a C-61/D-52 Window Coverings Limited Specialty Contractor License issued by the Contractors State License Board (CSLB). The contractor shall maintain all licenses in a current status for the duration of the project. Upon award of contract, Contractor shall obtain a City of Chico Business License and shall maintain same in a current status for the duration of the project. PREVAILING WAGES: PAYMENT REQUIRED – State prevailing wages are required to be paid to members of each craft or classification performing work on this project. Each worker performing work under this contract shall be paid a rate no less than the prevailing wage as described in Section 1771 and 1774 of the Labor Code. The prevailing wage rates are available online at http://www.dir.ca.gov/dlsr. Contractor shall comply with the provisions of Labor Code Section 1776 and 1812, which are incorporated by reference herein. If at any time during this contract federal funds are used to pay for work orders, federal prevailing wages may apply.
