This project consists of cleaning and lining approximately 4.7 miles of water mains on various streets within the City of Rochester. The water main rehabilitation method consists of mechanically cleaning the interior of the exsting water mains to remove rust deposits and other foreign matter and then applying a corrosion resistant cement mortar lining to restore hydraulic capacity, improve available fire flows, water quality and extend the useful life of the water mains. Some existing water main valves and fire hydrants will be replaced in the contract. The contract includes restoration of all disturbed pavement, sidewalk, and lawn areas.
