A1: Per the City of Garland Standard Construction Details, all expansion joints require 24” #4 Smooth Dowell Rod with asphalt & translucent cap at 24” center to center with redwood. We do not currently require the ½” removal of the top of the redwood after the concrete is dry to then apply gray joint filler.
