    Description

    CITY OF NAPLES PROFILE

The City of Naples is located in Collier County in southwest Florida and was incorporated on December 1, 1923. The City is approximately fourteen square miles in area, with a year-round population of approximately 19,306 in 2023, increasing to over 23,167 during the winter months. The Collier County population was approximately 399,480 in 2023, with an increase to 479,376 during the winter months. As a result, the daily service population is significantly greater than the permanent or seasonal population; however, no accurate measurement is available. Naples is a full-service City (police, fire/rescue, water, sewer, solid waste, recycling, parks and recreation, streets and stormwater) operated under the Council-Manager form of government. The City employs approximately 450 people.

The City of Naples is considered one of the nation’s premier communities, offering residents and visitors a wide array of outstanding cultural and recreational activities. Nestled on the Gulf of Mexico with a subtropical climate and many tree-lined streets, there are ample opportunities for shopping, dining, and recreation. The crime rate is low, and quality health care services are available. Housing and commercial services have expanded beyond the borders of the City into the adjacent unincorporated areas of Collier County, and while these unincorporated areas are also referred to as “Naples”, many County residents may not understand that they do not reside within the City. City residents are well aware of the distinction.

The City of Naples includes many distinct neighborhoods and areas, many of which are represented by a home or property owner’s association.  The lead representatives of the various associations meet regularly with the Naples City Manager to provide input on potential policy recommendations and proposed capital projects.

The City of Naples also includes many diverse commercial areas, including the well-known Fifth Avenue South and 3rd Street downtown business districts.  The Fifth Avenue South Business Improvement District represents property owners and merchants in that area, and the 3rd Street South Merchants’ Associations represent business owners there.

    SCOPE OF WORK

The City of Naples ("City") is seeking qualified individuals or firms interested in providing landscape plants and labor to install replacement plants in the medians on Goodlette Frank Road within the City of Naples limits. The median sections to be planted on Goodlette Frank Road will start at 5th Ave South/US 41 to Fleishmann Blvd.

The awarded vendor will purchase the listed plants and install them in the medians following the plant layout provided by city staff. The awarded vendor will need to be MOT certified and be able to obtain a MOT permit with Collier County Roads & Bridges to be able to close travels lanes if necessary.

    Background

The City of Naples lost plants during the recent hurricanes and these medians are in need of new plants to be planted as fill ins to the already existing plants.
