The Murray City Police Department (“City”) is seeking qualified heavy-duty towing companies for inclusion on the Murray City Police Department Heavy Duty Towing Rotation List (“Rotation List”). The Rotation List will be used when law enforcement requests heavy-duty towing, recovery, impound, storage, or related services within Murray City. Selected firms shall provide heavy-duty towing and recovery services on a twenty-four (24) hour per day, seven (7) day per week basis in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and City requirements. This is a two Phase RFQ. Phase I requires interested firms to submit an Intent to Apply Form, proof of a valid business license or active towing operation, proof that the tow truck motor carrier has been certified by the Utah Motor Vehicle Division as described in Section 72-9-602 for a minimum of three consecutive years prior to the submission deadline, and a valid Utah State Tax Commission impound yard number. Respondents must maintain an approved impound yard and heavy-duty towing equipment within Salt Lake County. Following the Phase I review, the City will determine which respondents meet the minimum qualifications. If the number of qualified respondents exceeds the available rotation positions, the City will conduct a computerized random selection process to determine which firms advance to Phase II. This will take place at Murray City Hall (10 E 4800 S, Murray, UT 84107) in the Poplar Room at 2:00 pm on June 4th, 2026. All respondents will be notified by email of the results on June 5, 2026.
