    Description

    SCOPE OF WORK Responses to this RFP will establish a list of qualified firms with cost rates that will encompass the contract period. The County will issue requests for cost estimation for a specific project as they are required. The initial term will be for three (3) years with an option for two one (1) year renewals. The maximum term will be five (5) years, at which point the list will be eliminated and re-established through a future RFP.The cost estimating services shall include, but are not limited to, review and recommendation of costs related to construction manager at agent, design, and construction contracts to assure that costs are commensurate with the project scope and local market conditions. The firms may also provide costs on projects ranging from preliminary design to construction documents which have not yet received cost estimates. All cost estimates shall be broken down by trade and include overhead and fees. The firms may be asked to attend meetings to compare, evaluate, and confirm costs with the Capital Projects Program Director and assigned County Project Managers.The firms shall provide the following services at a minimum: meet with project management staff and review and/or provide cost estimates for County projects, have appropriate staffing to accomplish scope of work within the specified time as required by the County, provide traditional and specialized cost management services, including cost models, program estimates, detailed itemized estimates, estimate reviews, scope/budget reviews, value engineering studies, construction manager/contractor cost reconciliation, and change order cost evaluations.Schedules for individual cost-estimating projects will vary depending on project scope and schedule. The County and the selected firm will agree to a schedule prior to commencement of work on an individual project.
