Will there be an evaluation committee to review the proposals and score them based on weights and multiple criteria?
Select the information you would like display.
Q (No subject): The requirement states 3'' ID, adjustable, 25,000 lb capacity military coupler however the trailer specifications indicate a single axle unit rated at approximately 3500 lbs. Can you please confirm if this coupler requirement is correct, or if a standard 2'' or 2–5/16 coupler appropriate for the trailer capacity would be acceptable? The frame requirement lists a minimum 4'' Channel. will manufacturer standard frame designs (such as angle frames) would be acceptable if they meet or exceed the required load capacity? The ramp is specified as 54''× 68.5'' is this an exact requirement, or will approximate manufacturer standard dimensions be acceptable?
A: A ball coupler will not be accepted. For standardization and safety purposes, the department uses a military hitch on their light & heavy duty tow vehicles. We’ve had good success with the “C” channel frame and would prefer to stay with that setup; these trailers are used on and off road frequently. The manufacturer can quote a slightly larger ramp as long as it’s not smaller than the specified 54” X 68.5”
