    NOTICE TO ARCHITECTS / ENGINEERS The University of Utah (U Facilities) is soliciting the services of qualified firms/individuals to perform design services for the following project: Project Name: 2nd MRI at Farmington Health Clinic UNIVERSITY PROJECT #70674 Project Description: Provide design services for the following: New MRI Remodel the existing support spaces by the Radiology Department to accommodate the installation of a new MRI system (3-Tesla Lumina by Siemens Healthcare). Demo two sinks; and add a new floor sink. Extend the existing medical gas lines. Add a vacuum and O2 outlet in the new MRI. Remove two VAV boxes. Add four new VAV boxes. Revise existing low-pressure supply and return ductwork in the MRI and adjacent areas. Upsize existing supply & return mains to the work area. Connect new VAV boxes to HWS/R. Reroute CHW/HW mains in the MRI area. Install a new CHWS/R lines and new chiller near the cooling tower. Revise existing fire sprinkler system in the design area. Cooling Redundancy Incorporate an overall cooling plan or back-up/redundancy to support both the existing and new MRI. (The existing MRI equipment is primarily cooled by a dedicated air-cooled chilled system located on the south side of the building. A back up / redundant chilled water source from the building HVAC chilled water system was installed in the event that the primary source had a failure. The backup chilled water source has not proven functional. This needs to be remedied and a reliable back-up / redundant chilled water source needs to be provided for the MRI equipment cooling needs.) Construction Budget: $2,608,739.00 The selection shall be under the Value Based Selection method. The Solicitation for A/E Services documents, including the proposal requirements and the selection criteria and Project Schedule, will be available at 2:00 PM on December 9, 2025 on the BidNet Direct website.
