    NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS The University of Utah (U Facilities) is requesting proposals for the construction of the following project: HCH Parking Terrace Patient Elevator Adjacent to Building 560 University Project #70685 This Construction Management/General Contractor (CM/GC) project includes: Vision Provide an additional elevator for the existing Huntsman Cancer Hospital Patient Parking Terrace to improve patient transport between the Huntsman Cancer Hospital and the University of Utah Hospital. Project Description This project will add a second elevator to the Huntsman Cancer Institute Parking Terrace (building 560). This elevator will be dedicated for patient transport and will need to accommodate a patient bed as well as several staff members, in accordance with all codes and guidelines. The elevator will have limited stops, including at the A level of HCH/HCI (garage level 4) and the level of the existing tunnel (garage level 1) that extends westward from the parking terrace to University Hospital. The elevator is an addition to the existing stair and elevator tower. This will require modifications to the existing hardscape and landscape. The University is seeking a construction team with experience building on constrained sites adjacent to existing structures with limited access and laydown space. The successful team will have a comprehensive plan for managing the site - limiting the overall impact of the project, planning for excavation adjacent to existing subgrade structures and managing spoils. A clear project schedule that efficiently completes the most invasive work before winter is desirable. The Fixed Contract Price Limit, as defined in the CMGC Agreement, is: $1,805,000 The RFP documents, including the selection requirements and the Project Schedule, will be available on the BidNet Direct website. A MANDATORY Pre-Proposal Meeting will be held at 8:00 am on June 23, 2026 in the Outside, adjacent to the upper level of HCH Garage - Refer to attached map. All Contractors wishing to submit on this project must attend this meeting. Proposals, including references, management plan and statements of qualifications must be submitted to the University via the BidNet Direct website no later than 2:00 pm on July 1, 2026. Proposals received after the specified time will not be accepted. The Contractor is responsible for ensuring that delivery to the University of all proposal documents is made by the date and time listed on the Project Schedule. The Contractor for the project must be a Utah licensed General Contractor. Association with other individuals or firms having appropriate professional expertise is acceptable. The University will enter into a single agreement with the successful Contractor. A bid bond in the amount of 5% of the Fixed Contract Price Limit, made payable to the University of Utah as Owner on an AIA Document A310 – 2010 Bid Bond form, or equivalent, shall accompany the Contractor’s Cost Proposal.
