    Description

    The City of Safford, Arizona will receive sealed bids on a general contract for the 8th Street Sidewalk Improvements, COS Project No. 371-031 and the 10th Avenue Sidewalk Improvements, COS Project No. 299-031. Detailed Description of Construction Work: 8th Street: This project includes the preparation of new subgrade for the placement of sidewalk on the north side of 8th Street between Walmart and 14th Avenue as well as new ADA compliant ramps at the entrance of the Lexington Pines Resort park. It will also include the placement of said sidewalk over an existing drainage channel, where new sidewalk will be cast over a flow-through drainage structure. The new sidewalk will tie into existing sidewalk at the entrance of Wal-Mart off of 8th Street as well as tying into the existing sidewalk at the northwestern corner of the intersection of 8th Street and 14th Avenue. 10th Avenue: This project includes the removal of existing curb and gutter for placement of new ADA compliant curb ramps as well as new sidewalk on the east side of 10th Avenue between Relation Street and 12th Street. There will also be new driveway ramps constructed throughout the length of the project. Bid due date: Sealed bids for the described work will be received by the City Clerk at City Hall, 717 West Main Street, Safford, Arizona 85546 until 2:00 p.m. Arizona time on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at which time they will be opened and read aloud. This will allow the City to inform you of any changes, addenda, and clarification that may be made. Bid documents are also available at the City’s Mesa Yard Office Complex (MYOC) located at 405 West Discovery Park Blvd., Safford, AZ 85546. The first set will be provided at no cost to qualifying bidders (with a Contractor’s License) and the cost to purchase additional bidding documents will be $25.00. No refund will be made for return of plans and/or proposal pamphlet by prospective bidders – either before or after the bid opening date. Projected Start Date: May 1, 2018 Final Completion: 60 Days Questions are due, by Monday, April 8, 2:00 p.m. Arizona time. Address all questions to Lance Henrie, Public Works Director/Assistant City Engineer, via email at lhenrie@saffordaz.gov. Response to questions, clarifications, addendums, etc. will be provided by e-mail Tuesday, April 9, 2:00 p.m. The following items shall accompany each complete Bid Proposal: A satisfactory Bid Bond executed by bidder Payable to the City of Safford in the amount ten percent (10%) of the total bid. A Non-Collusion Affidavit of Primer Bidders form completed and signed. List of Subcontractors form completed and signed (if applicable). Contractor’s License Number and Arizona Registrar of Contractors License Class. Bidder’s Qualification Statements and any applicable forms completed and signed, if not submitted within the last 12 months. All proposals must be addressed to the City Clerk of the City of Safford and shall have the project title endorsed thereon as provided in this Call for Bids. The City of Safford reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive minor irregularities and informalities therein and further reserves the right to award the contract to the lowest most responsive and responsible bidder.
