To upgrade the existing fire alarm system in the ~65,000 sq. ft Rogers Building with either Edwards or Kidde equipment, as well as improve the overall layout in some areas to better align with fire code requirements. Fire alarm work includes but is not limited to: removal or relocation of fire alarm along with fire alarm work located on or crossing through project property, above or below grade, obstructing construction of project or conflicting with completed project or any applicable code. Includes: all low voltage cabling and terminations for fire alarm system, alterations and additions to existing fire alarm systems, connection of all appliances and equipment including owner furnished equipment, complete temporary facilities for construction power systems. Special Considerations: Installer who is certified, licensed, or otherwise qualified by the firestopping manufacturer as having been provided the necessary training to install manufacturer’s products per specified requirements. Installation must be by personnel certified by NICET as fire-alarm Level III technician. Obtain certification by NRTL in accordance with NFPA 72. Licensed or certified by authorities having jurisdiction. Contractor may use the garage area in the Phase 1 Building (Building B) as a staging location, or in Roger’s Building Conference Room 352, depending on the amount of material. Contractors may need a lift to reach the beam detectors in the museum and in the museum work areas on the first floor. Access with a large scissor lift can be difficult because of displays and other items.
