    Description

Project Description: The Public Improvement, upon which bids are requested, generally consists of installing CIPP liners in various size sanitary sewer lines, located at multiple locations in all Cedar Rapids quadrants. The Engineer’s opinion of probable cost is $1,990,000. Early Start Date: Upon Receipt of Notice to Proceed Late Start Date: 7/27/2026 Milestones: None Final Completion: Working Days - 160 --- Q&A --- Q1: Does the City have plans for access to the 18" line that runs from SSST-00307 to SSST-00308? It appears to run down a walking/bike trail. The closest address is 4205 C ST SW. A1: The only access is on the trail from the south. This would be about a mile. One way in and out. Due to this difficult access this site this segment of 18 inch lining will be deleted from the project. Please bid accordingly. Submitted: 5/5/2026 09:21:58 AM (CT) Q2: The CIPP process is a water intensive process with cleaning the pipe and liner installation. If we have to get water at the public works yard, it really slows down the process. Could you please confirm we will have access to local hydrants to perform our work as long as we secure a water meter & use a backflow preventer? A2: Please review the City of Cedar Rapids SUDAS supplement for contact information about obtaining water. See the CR SUDAS Supplement Sec. 4050 Part 1 1.07 for details. Submitted: 5/1/2026 08:54:22 AM (CT) Q3: Thank you for providing a pipe schedule. Would you be able to provide this schedule in an Excel format? Some of the footages are not matching with the bid tab. A3: I can't attach an Excel version to this reply but if any contractors want an Excel version please email me at L.Snell@cedar-rapids.org and I will send the Excel version.
