We are being told glass that small can't be tempered and that it is not possible getting a .25 SHGC with ½" lami. 2.) Is tinted glass with a 4th surface Low E to get closer allowed? A1: Do the windows need to be thermally broken? No. Can we deviate from ½" Clear Temp Lami? No. We are being told glass that small can't be tempered and that it is not possible getting a .25 SHGC with ½" lami. This type of glass has been used on previous Tarrant County projects, and the contractor should be able to source it in the market. However, the glass thickness specified in the project manual represents the minimum requirement. Is tinted glass with a 4th surface Low E to get closer allowed? No. Submitted: 1/30/2026 10:13:00 AM (CT)
