Project Scope: The work (Project) includes furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, services, and incidentals for the Boca Raton Hidden Valley, Pump Station. The upgrades include modifications and enhancements to the building’s architecture, structural strengthening, modifications to the existing process mechanical system, and upgrades to the mechanical and electrical equipment inside the building. This project will also include miscellaneous site improvements, including civil, mechanical, electrical, and all incidentals required to complete the project in conformance with the Contract Documents. The work is located at the Hidden Valley Pump Station at 8000 North Dixie Highway, Boca Raton, Florida 33487. All work shall comply with Contract Documents and permit conditions, and include all ancillary components, testing and restoration work, as necessary. The estimated budget for this bid is $7,230,000. The specified Owner’s product for Microduct is a Sumitomo Electric FutureFlex product, which is explicitly designed for air-blown fiber. A standard corning 12-strand cable will not fit inside of a Sumitomo FutureFlex microduct product, as the internal diameter of the microduct is too small to fit the standard corning cable. If the contractor is to provide a standard corning 12-strans cable, then we are seeking clarification that microduct is not required. Please clarify if the Owner requires a standard 12-Strand corning cable and if the plan note requiring Microduct is a misnomer, or if the Owner requires the specifiedd Microduct and the associated Air Blown fiber cable that goes with it.
