    Questions & Answers

Q (Unsuitable Material per Section 300-2.2.1 ): As per Section 300-2.2.1 "Unsuitable Material", the City does not know the conditions of the existing subgrade material. Since the cost of disposing suitable differs by a lot from the cost of disposing unsuitable material, we are not able to accurately bid without a Soil Report. Similarly, the costs of handling and grading suitable material is less costly then handling and grading of unsuitable material. We kindly ask the City to provide all bidders with a project Soil Report so that we are all bidding the project the same. Another option is make the unsuitable material handling in an allowance contingent bid item. Please advise.

A: Soil report was not preformed. Bidders should assume that all material will be a combination of sand and native soil. No unsuitable material is anticipated other than the roots that may be encountered.

Q (No subject): As per Section 300-2.2.2 Wet Material, the City does not know the moisture content of the existing subgrade material. Since the costs of dealing with wet material versus optimum material varies a lot, we are asking the City to provide all bidders with a project Soil Report so we are all bidding it under the same conditions. Another option is make the handling of wet material, including the installation of Geogrid Fabric, through an allowance contingent bid item. Please advise.

A: Soil report was not preformed.

Q (Entry to View Site ): Is the gate open Monday through Friday during business hours to allow us, as bidders, to view the site's conditions and other factors?

A: The Adobe is reserved for use during operating hours, and we are unable to open the gate for site viewing.
