Oak Brook is a premier community known for its beautiful neighborhoods, vibrant business district, and exceptional public amenities—including world-class shopping, fine dining, and abundant green space. The Oak Brook Fire Department protects a wide variety of hazards including a large commercial and mercantile district made up of high-rises, big box stores, warehouses, light industrial, multi-family dwellings, hotels, and large residential structures. In addition, the fire department protects several miles of high-speed roadways which include IL Route 83, Interstate 88, and Interstate 294.

In 2025, the Oak Brook Fire Department continued to see a year after year call volume increase, answering 3,322 calls for service, delineated by a nature of 65% emergency medical service and 35% fire service-related calls.

The Village of Oak Brook is seeking responsible vendors to submit proposals to build our next aerial ladder truck. The Village of Oak Brook is looking to award the next aerial ladder build to a vendor who can build a high-quality vehicle, exceeding our minimum custom-build requirements, that services the citizens of the Village of Oak Brook for at least the next fifteen years. The Oak Brook Fire Department is looking for a reliable aerial fire apparatus that consistently remains in-service, but when maintenance is needed, can be taken to a local dealer for efficient, cost effective, and dependable repair. Apparatus build time and a vehicle that meets or exceeds the fire department's vehicle requirements will be key when selecting the next vendor.

Some key components the Oak Brook Fire Department is seeking in our next aerial ladder build, but not limited to:
