    The City of Carlsbad (“City”) is requesting proposals from qualified firms to provide art conservation and preservation services for the City’s permanently installed public art collection. In 2023, the City retained Patt Conservation to prepare a Public Art Maintenance and Treatment Survey (“Survey”), which provided a professional condition assessment of 35 public artworks throughout the City’s collection and included recommendations for preventive conservation, monitoring, and condition-based conservation treatments. The Survey is included as Exhibit B to this RFP.The intent of this RFP is to establish an Art Conservation and Preservation Services Agreement with a qualified firm (“Consultant”) to perform preventive conservation and condition-based treatment services, and to provide professional expertise to support the long-term preservation, safety, and aesthetic quality of the City’s public art collection.
