The purpose of this Invitation to Bid (ITB) by the City of Harrisonburg, Virginia (City) is to solicit sealed bids from interested vendors (Bidder) to asphalt milling and asphalt paving for a portion of the intersection of PortRepublic Road and South Main Street, as detailed in the attached sketch.The project will consist of milling three inches (3â) of the existing pavement surface and replacing with three inches (3â) of asphalt type SMA-12.5, in the area depicted on the attached sketch.The unit prices for milling and asphalt shall include all required traffic control as required by the Virginia Work Area Protection (VA WAP) manual. The unit price for milling shall include hauling of material to a location provided by the contractor.Due to the very limited time duration of this project, asphalt fuel adjustments will not be considered.The Contractor shall provide temporary pavement markers (TOMS) as part of this project, and that cost shall be included in the unit cost of asphalt. The City will perform all final pavement marking services at the completionof this project.Contractor shall not start before July 20, 2026, and shall be completed by August 21, 2026.
