NOTICE INVITING BIDS – The City of Chico will receive sealed bids at 965 Fir Street, Chico, CA ATTN: Public Works O&M, until 1:00 p.m. (Pacific Standard Time)on July 28, 2026, at which time the bids will be opened and read. Once the results have been determined by staff, bid results will be posted and may be obtained on the Public Purchase website under Bid # “2026 FTC Audio/Video System Upgrade.” DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT – The City of Chico (“City”) is soliciting proposals from qualified and licensed Audio/Visual (A/V) contractors to provide a comprehensive, turnkey upgrade of the A/V system at the Fire Training Center. The Contractor shall provide all necessary permits, labor, materials and required equipment to complete said work. The term of the Contract shall be 120 days from issuance of Notice to Proceed. Questions and Requests for Information regarding the project must be submitted through the Public Purchase bid site. Responses to questions will be posted on the bid site. Questions and Requests for Information must be submitted by 5:00 P.M. seven (7) calendar days prior to bid opening. INSURANCE; BONDS REQUIRED - The bidder to whom a Contract is awarded will be required to furnish to the City evidence of insurance coverage(s) and performance/labor and materials bonds in full compliance with the provisions of the Contract documents. LICENSING REQUIREMENTS – The Contractor shall hold a current California C-7 (Low Voltage Systems) license at minimum; C-10 (Electrical) is required for any line-voltage work. Upon award of contract, Contractor shall obtain a City of Chico Business License and shall maintain same in a current status for the duration of the project. PREVAILING WAGES: PAYMENT REQUIRED – State prevailing wages are required to be paid to members of each craft or classification performing work on this project. Each worker performing work under this contract shall be paid a rate no less than the prevailing wage as described in Section 1771 and 1774 of the Labor Code. The prevailing wage rates are available online at http://www.dir.ca.gov/dlsr. Contractor shall comply with the provisions of Labor Code Section 1776 and 1812, which are incorporated by reference herein. If at any time during this contract federal funds are used to pay for work orders, federal prevailing wages may apply.
