Project Description: Mastication treatments Mixed Conifer Units: 1 (18.02 acres), 4 (2.00 acres), 10 (5.66 acres) and 11 (7.46 acres) Lodgepole Units: 8 (4.28 acres) and 12 (4.32 acres) Masicate all dead conifer and aspen except those designated to leave Mastication of down material required. No individual pieces of masticated material less than 10 inches DBH shall exceed six feet (6') in length. Masticated debris or material will not exceed a height of eighteen inches (18") from ground level. Masticated material will be despersed throughout the unit so that material does not exceed four inches (4") in depth. Greater than 90% of the dead and downed material in each unit must be masticated. Preference to reduce material to roughly 4"-12" chunks versus fine chips. Leave standing snags or designated wildlife retention trees as follows: 4-14 snags per acre will be retained. Leave snags in groups (preferred) Leave snags in clumps of 10-14 trees. Space clumps of snags approximately 150' - 250' apart. Or if groups are not available, individual snags spaced approximately 100' aparts. Snag species preference to be left: Aspen, Ponderosa pine, Douglas fir For safety of workers and access purposes for machinery and personnel, additional trees (live or dead may be taken if accomplish tothe objectives set forth in this implementation guide. Georeferenced pdf's will be followed by the selected contractor for this project, as no boundary flagging/marking will be completed by the project proponent prior to implementation. Project Location: Badger Creek Fire Scar Township 13N Range 77W Timeline: Request released: July 16, 2025 Bids will be due by: August 1, 2025 by 12:00 pm Notificaton of successful bidder: August 6, 2025 by 4:00 pm Work to be completed between the period of August 15, 2025 - November 1, 2025. Travel closure will be in effect begin October 1. Access will be allow, but no plowing of roads will be allowed.
