The project is located within the 496 acre CITY OF SUNRISE DRAINAGE BASIN 15. The Basin is bordered on the south by NW 44th Street, on the north by Commercial Boulevard, on the west by the South Florida Water Management District C-42 Canal and a portion of the Sawgrass Expressway and on the east by Nob Hill Road. The culvert reinforcement work is located at the Hiatus Road canal crossing between NW 53rd Street and NW 55th Street in the City of Sunrise. The City has instituted an overall project for roadway culvert replacements or reinforcement within the Basin 15 area, which includes the current project work. This project is for the installation of a 54” reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) to be constructed parallel to the existing 54” RCP culvert, and rerouting existing street drainage. The parallel pipe and replacement pipe section are intended to upgrade the hydraulic flow capacity of the culvert crossing to that of a single 72” RCP. The existing canal culvert is designated in the Basin as Culvert R-15-110A. The Work is generally described as follows: Project work includes sediment and turbidity control, pollution prevention, clearing and grubbing, maintenance of traffic, dewatering, canal bypass pumping, installing 54” RCP, construction of two endwalls and two manhole structures, cutting into and connecting to existing street drainage pipe, demolition, restoration of pavement and curbs, pavement milling and resurfacing, restoration of pavement markings, sodding and other miscellaneous and incidental items for a complete project. The Contractor will be responsible for preparation of as-built record drawings. ## Pre-Bid Conference NON-MANDATORY A Non-Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held at City Hall – Everglades Room – 10770 W OAKLAND PARK BLVD, SUNRISE, FL ON MONDAY, JUNE 8, 2026 AT 9:00 AM. Following the Pre-Bid Conference, a Site Visit will be made. Contractors are responsible for bringing any required sub-contractors to this Pre-Bid Conference and Site Visit.
