    Description

    Nature of Project The Commissioners Court of Nueces County (hereinafter called the “County”) will accept sealed competitive bids for: Belk Lane Drainage Improvements located adjacent to 2320 CR67, Robstown, TX 78380 in accordance with the Drawings, Specifications, and other Contract Documents prepared by Ardurra, subcontractor for International Consulting Engineers (ICE). Bidder agrees that if his/her Bid is accepted by the County, he will complete all work called for under the Contract Documents on or before 154 calendar days after the date of Notice to Proceed for Base Bid, Additive No. 1 and Additive No. 2, and if the work is not completed by such time, he/she agrees to pay to the County as liquidated damages, the sum of Five Hundred Dollars and no/100 ($500.00) for each calendar day after such time that the work remains incomplete, calculated in accordance with the provisions of the Contract Documents. The scope of work for the Base Bid consists of the following: Drainage improvements include channel excavation, concrete headwalls and wingwalls, reinforced concrete pipe (RCP), HDPE pipe, concrete box culverts, safety end treatments, driveway repair and seeding for erosion control in accordance with the contract documents, drawings and specifications. The scope of work for Additive Bid No. 1 consists of the following: Additional RCP’s, ditch regrading, and safety end treatments at the proposed berm location in accordance with the contract documents, drawings and specifications. The scope of work for Additive Bid No. 2 consists of the following: Additional ditch regarding and concrete riprap at the outfall in accordance with the contract documents, drawings and specifications. The Contractor shall provide all tools and equipment that are necessary to complete the project in its entirety. All work shall be in accordance with the scope of work. All materials used for the project shall be equal to or better than the existing materials’ quality. The Contractor will be responsible for removal and disposal of all demolished materials and debris from the work area. The Contractor shall take proper care to avoid unnecessary noise, clatter or obstructions in walkways, sidewalks, and roadways. The Contractor shall not interfere with use or safe passage to and from building and adjacent facilities. Time is of the essence. Failure to complete the Project within the contract time, except as such time may be extended by delays approved by County, will subject the Bidder to whom the contract is awarded, liability for damages, as provided in the Conditions of the Contract. Contract Administrator: Edward Herrera, Nueces County Community Services and Inland Parks Director, will serve as the contract administrator for this project. Note: The U.S. Department of Treasury will not extend its deadlines. All federally funded work/assignments must be completed and in full use on or before December 31, 2026.
