The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (“NFTA”) will receive bids on a general contract for the BNIA – Moving Walkway. Project Number 15BT2521. The work shall include, but not be limited to: Installation of a new structural floor, terrazzo tile, and electrical work within the limits of the demolished moving walkway at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport, 4200 Genesee St, Cheektowaga NY, 14225. See Specification Section 01 11 00 for a general summary of work. Bids will be accepted either in offline (paper) or online (electronic) versions. Offline bids should be submitted in an opaque sealed envelope to the Engineering Branch on the 7th floor of the MTC. The lower left-hand corner should be marked as follows: BID NO. E-632. Online bids should be submitted in accordance with the process outlined on the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website. All bids will be opened and read aloud on May 28, 2026, at 2:00 pm at the Metropolitan Transportation Center (“MTC”), 1st Floor Conference Room, 181 Ellicott Street, Buffalo, New York 14203. Bids received after the date and time specified above for bid opening shall not be opened and/or considered for award. The Contract Documents may be examined in the 7th Floor Conference Room, 181 Ellicott Street, Buffalo, New York 14203 or on the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website at www.nftaengineering.com. Online registration is required to become a Document Holder and obtain Contract Documents. Copies of the Contract Documents are available at no cost and may be requested from Cindy Cirbus at 716-855-7342 or fax 716-855-7447 or downloaded from the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website. The Contract Documents may be picked up Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to Noon and 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., or sent via courier billed to the requester. Shipping costs are non-refundable. The NFTA reserves the right to waive irregularities, to reject any or all bids and to extend the bidding period. Bid security must accompany each bid and must be in an amount not less than ten percent of the total bid price if the base bid exceeds $50,000.00. Bid security may be submitted prior to bid opening either electronically utilizing Surety2000 at www.surety2000.com, or delivered to the NFTA in an opaque sealed envelope. Details for electronic submission are provided on the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website. In the event a bidder utilizes an offline bid but provides bid security electronically the electronic bid bond number must be submitted with the offline bid. The Contractor shall perform not less than 40% of the Work with its own forces. The time of completion for the project is 91 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages will be assessed against the Contractor for its failure to complete the project within the time specified. See specification 01 11 00 Summary of Work. A Pre-Bid Conference will be held May 13, 2026, at 11:00 am at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport Conference Room 2E76 located at 4200 Genesee Street, Cheektowaga, NY 14225. A walk-through of the project site will be conducted directly following the Pre-Bid conference.
