    Description

    State Project Number 75LN0024 Boiler Replacement for Minnesota Veterans Home Luverne A. The work will be done under one prime contract that includes: General, Mechanical, Demolition, Excavation, Civil, and Electrical construction. B. The following summary is a general guide to the scope of work. It should not be construed as a detailed list of work included in the contract. 1. Demolition of 2 existing electric/natural gas hydronic heating boilers and the associated piping, boiler pumps, flue, controls, and wiring. 2. Demolition of 1 existing fuel oil/natural gas hydronic heating boiler and the associated piping, boiler pumps, flue, controls, and wiring. 3. Installation of 3 new propane/natural gas full condensing hydronic heating boilers in place of the existing. Installation of 3 new boiler pumps. Modifications to the existing hydronic piping to accommodate the installation of the new boilers. Extension of new boiler flues through the roof. 4. Integration of the new boiler controllers with the existing building automation system. 5. Installation of a new propane tank, vaporizer, and piping to serve as the backup fuel source for the new boilers. 6. Electrical modifications necessary to power the new pumps and boilers. 7. Site grading at the rear of the building where an existing fuel tank was removed in a separate contract. 8. Installation of a new area drain and associated piping at the rear of the building. Plans and Specifications were prepared by Ericksen Ellison and Associates, Inc., Matt Armstead, 305 2nd Street NW, Suite 105, New Brighton, MN 55112, 651-632-2313, and marmstead@eeaengineers.com This solicitation includes qualification requirements. Attachment C of the Response Form contains the qualification requirements for the solicitation. Qualification requirements include, but are not limited to: Responding company has completed as a Prime Contractor or as a Subcontractor the work for at least two (2) contracts which have achieved Substantial Completion since April 1, 2020, for construction of similar scope of work. Each of these contracts MUST have had a construction value of $500,000 or greater. Project Manager and Job Superintendent responsible for this project has had at least three (3) years of experience with hydronic boiler modifications/installation similar in scope and value to this project. Each of these contracts must have had a construction value of $500,000 or greater. This Project has a 3% Targeted Group, Economically Disadvantaged, Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (TG/ED/VO) subcontracting goal. The TG/ED/VO subcontracting goal will not be a consideration in determining the lowest responsible Prime Contractor. This solicitation includes required insurance as recommended for the project’s specifications and scope of work. It is highly encouraged potential responders review Section 00 73 16 Insurance Requirements, as well as AIA A201, Article 11 of the project manual in the solicitation before submitting a response.
