    Description

Boone County Fiscal Court is seeking qualified professional consulting services to update the Union Park Master Plan. The updated plan will guide future parks and recreation services, facilities, and capital improvements based on demographic trends, public input, and evaluation of existing assets.

    Background

Boone County, Kentucky (“County”) invites experienced and qualified professional consultants to submit proposals for the update and development of the Union Park Master Plan.

In 2004, Boone County completed its original Union Park Master Plan when the population was approximately 98,256 residents. Over the past 20 years, the County has experienced significant growth and development, with the current population now exceeding 144,000 residents.

The Boone County Parks and Recreation Department currently owns and/or leases 32 parks and recreation sites totaling approximately 1,918 acres. This Master Plan will provide strategic direction to the Fiscal Court regarding the operation and maintenance of existing assets, as well as recommendations for future park development and facility expansion to meet the needs of a growing community.

The County will provide base mapping for each park site and a county-wide map in digital ArcGIS format for use by the selected consultant.

A Master Plan Advisory Committee will be established to work with the consultant and review project progress throughout the planning process.
