Commodity or Service Required: Purchase of Boyd Brothers – Automated Logic Controllers Description: Lee County Facilities seeks to execute a single-source procurement for maintenance, inspection, updates, repairs and replacement of Automated Logic HVAC and lighting controllers by Boyd Brothers Service, Inc. These controllers provide the ability to access information and control buildings from anywhere using a variety of different devices that make it easier to access, analyze, understand and properly manage HVAC, fire and smoke control systems and lighting in Lee County facilities. This equipment is currently in service and switching to another system and/or manufacturer would cause substantial increases in restocking inventory costs, delays, and labor, which is why Lee County Facilities does not anticipate switching equipment, but requires the listed equipment and services at this time. Intended Single Source: Boyd Brothers Service, Inc. Justification for Single Source Acquisition: Boyd Brothers Service, Inc is the sole authorized vendor that can support all the hardware and software required for the existing Automated Logic controllers. Automated Logic Controls are currently in 22 Lee County facilities providing advanced technology that simplifies building automation. The software that provides the ability to access information and control the buildings from anywhere is only supplied and maintained in our area by Boyd Brothers Service, Inc. Recommended Procurement Approach: For the reason(s) stated above, Lee County Procurement Management intends to utilize the Single Source Procurement method to purchase from Boyd Brothers Service, Inc. to supply the above.
