Bus Stop Shelters and Solar Lighting

METRO RTA is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to provide bus shelter and related amenities such as anti-vagrancy benches and solar-powered lighting systems to enhance rider safety, comfort, and sustainability across the transit network. The scope of work includes the fabrication and delivery of durable, low-maintenance shelter components constructed from corrosion-resistant materials such as powder-coated steel or aluminum, and incorporating tempered, shatter-resistant glass panels to improve safety and longevity. Shelter units shall be standardized at approximately 4 feet by 8 feet in size and 5 feet by 8 feet feature a barrel roof design to provide effective weather protection and structural durability. All shelter designs must comply with ADA accessibility requirements and applicable local codes, providing adequate clear space, accessible seating, and safe entry configurations. The shelters should feature a modular and scalable design to accommodate a variety of site conditions and allow for efficient manufacturing, assembly, and future part replacement.

Proposed solar lighting systems must utilize high-efficiency LED fixtures powered by photovoltaic panels with battery storage capable of supporting reliable dusk-to-dawn operation, including periods of limited sunlight. Lighting components must be vandal-resistant, tamper-proof, and designed for ease of maintenance.
