The project generally consists of the renovation of the mens and womens public restrooms on the second and third floor of the courthouse in the project documents. Sealed bids are hereby invited and will be received until 4:00 pm local time on May 7th, 2025 at the following location: Butte-Silver Bow Courthouse The Office of the Clerk and Recorder Second Floor, Room 208 155 W. Granite Street Butte, Montana 59701 Bids received after that time will not be opened or considered for this project. The bids will be publicly opened and read at the Council of Commissioners Meeting 7:30 pm local time on May 7th, 2025. Sealed bids are to be addressed to the City and County of Butte-Silver Bow, Clerk and Recorder Office, 155 W. Granite Street, Butte, MT 59701, and shall be marked on the outside of the envelope, “BID FOR BUTTE SILVER BOW COURTHOUSE RESTROOM RENOVATION PHASE 2” Bids are invited for one General Contract on a lump sum basis and shall be submitted on the Proposal Form provided with the Contract Documents. Pre-Bid Conference: Bidders are required to attend the pre-bid conference of the project which will be held on April 22rd, 2025 beginning at 2:00 p.m., at the project site, at the location of the Butte-Silver Bow Courthouse, 155 W. Granite Street, Butte, MT. Contract Documents: Digital copies may be obtained by contacting SMA Architecture & Design, local Montana Plans Exchanges and are also available on Butte-Silver Bow’s website under ‘Request for Bids, Proposals and Quotes’ tab. Bids shall be submitted on the form provided with the contract documents. Bids shall be accompanied by bid security in the amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid. The bid security shall be either a bid bond executed by a surety corporation authorized to do business in the State of Montana or a cashier's check drawn and issued by a national banking association located in Montana or a bank chartered by the State of Montana. Successful bidders will be required to furnish approved performance and payment bonds, each in the amount of 100% of the contract and to expressly covenant that if the bidder is awarded the contract the bidder will enter into a formal contract for the work within 10 days after the proposal is accepted by the Owner. No bidder may withdraw his bid for at least 30 days after the scheduled time for receipt of bids except as noted in the Instruction to Bidders. Each bidder will be expected to comply with all fair labor practices, and must meet the requirements of all applicable City and County of Butte-Silver Bow and State of Montana statutes. The Contractor and any subcontractor doing work on this project will be required to obtain registration with the Montana Department of Labor and Industry (DLI). Forms for registration are available from the Department of Labor and Industry, P.O. Box 8011, 1805 Prospect, Helena, MT 59604-8011. CONTRACTOR is not required to have registered with the DLI prior to bidding on this project but must have registered prior to execution of the Construction Agreement. The Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex or national origin. The Contractor is required to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. All laborers and mechanics employed by Contractor or subcontractors in performance of the construction work must comply with the Montana Prevailing Wage Determination for 2025. The owner reserves the right to waive informalities or reject any or all proposals received for this project. The Owner will collect the 1% Montana Gross Receipts Tax from payments made to the Contractor for work conducted on this project.
