The City of South San Francisco requests that your company submit an informal bid to perform the above-referenced work.
The work consists of constructing crossing improvements at the intersection of Callan and Meath in South San Francisco. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment, traffic control, and incidentals necessary to complete the work in a satisfactory and workmanlike manner, in accordance with the project scope and specifications.
All materials provided and work performed shall conform to the City of South San Francisco Construction Standards, Caltrans Standard Specifications (latest edition), and all applicable ADA requirements. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive minor irregularities in the bids received, as permitted by law.
The Engineer’s Estimate for this work is approximately $30,000.
The selected bidder will be required to enter into the City of South San Francisco’s Minor Construction Agreement (attached) as a condition of award, which will include an additional allowance item equal to 20% of the base bid for field directed changes. Work shall commence upon receipt of the City’s Notice to Proceed, which is anticipated to be issued within approximately 30 working days following bid acceptance.
Payment will be made based on work satisfactorily completed and in place, consistent with the scope of work and as determined by the City Engineer or designee.
A pre-bid site visit will not be held. Contractors are strongly encouraged to attend to familiarize themselves with site conditions and project constraints.

The Contractor shall be responsible for protecting existing utilities and facilities. Any damage to utilities resulting from the Contractor’s operations shall be repaired at the Contractor’s expense and to the satisfaction of the utility owner.
All costs necessary to fully complete the work in accordance with the project documents, standards, and requirements shall be included in the bid price.
