Celebrity Colony Water and Sanitary Line Replacement

The work in this contract is for the Celebrity Colony Water and Sanitary Line Replacement for Champions Municipal Utility District (CMUD) located in Champions Celebrity Colony. The purpose of this project is to update and integrate the Champions Celebrity Colony neighborhood into the overall CMUD system by rehabilitating its sanitary system and replacing its water system

In general, this work consists of:

1. Installation 8-inch AWWA C-900 water line, by trenchless construction, for all depths, including restrained joints, bends, fittings, open right gate valves with boxes, and Mueller, or approved equal, fire hydrant assemblies. Disinfection and hydrostatic testing shall be completed by the Contractor.
2. Installation of minimum 14-inch steel casing, by trenchless construction, including fittings. Contractor shall make sure proposed water line with restrained joints and spacers has the needed clearance for installation inside the proposed steel casing.
3. Connection of the new water lines to the existing water system by full-body tee wet connections.
4. Installation and connection of new service leads from the new water line to the relocated water meters using stainless steel tapping saddle or sleeve including Ford or Mueller corporation valves and ball valve curb stops, or approved equal.  No 90-degree curb stops will be allowed. It will be the Contractor’s responsibility to ensure that all meters are reconnected to the new water line.
5. Relocation of existing smart water meters with new water meter boxes and installation and connection of remaining service line from meter to house with proposed spigot connection as detailed in the plans for a complete and functional system.
6. Abandonment of the existing water line, all depths, including cutting, draining, plugging, and grouting the existing water line as shown in the plans.
7. Removing the existing fire hydrant assembly and plugging the old fire hydrant connection on the existing line. Existing fire hydrant to be removed are to be salvaged and returned to Champions MUD.
8. Pre-television of lines CCC-2 to CT-50 and CCC-1 to CW-600A to be rehabilitated.
9. Pipebursting of sanitary sewer lines including service reconnections in kind and cleanout replacements.
10. Cleaning and preparation of sanitary sewer manholes prior to rehabilitation, including removing existing liners, debris, existing utility cables etc.
11. Repair of sanitary sewer manholes including cementitious lining, removing and replacing frames and covers, raising sanitary sewer manholes, repair of bench and invert, grouting exterior of manhole frames, and removing and relocating pipe and/or cable through sanitary sewer manholes. Contractor shall initiate coordination with pipe and/or cable owner within 30 days of notice to proceed and provide proof of ongoing communication throughout the project at a frequency of at least once every 30 days until completed.
12. Site restoration of disturbed areas including replacing damaged sidewalks, ramps, driveways, pavement, patios, turf, plants, shrubs, trees, irrigation lines, fences, and gates.
13. Implementation, maintenance, and removal of traffic control plan, trench safety, and storm water pollution prevention plan best practices including inlet protection barriers.
