AI Summary
CFPUA seeks a contractor for valve exercising and maintenance in its water distribution system, including asset assessment, GIS integration, and infrastructure repair, via an RFP.
The Cape Fear Public Utility Authority (CFPUA) is seeking an experienced contractor to perform valve exercising within the Authority service area. Cape Fear Public Utility Authority currently provides water and wastewater services to more than 200,000 residential and commercial customers throughout New Hanover County. As part of its ongoing asset management program, CFPUA will be accepting Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) for the assessment, maintenance and repair of valves within its water distribution system. The objectives of this program will be the extension of asset life expectancy; reduction of long-term operations and maintenance costs through programmed maintenance efforts; assessment of distribution asset conditions; and the enhancement of a geospatial information management repository for utilization by CFPUA in evaluating asset repair/replacement decisions, and integration of the collected information into CFPUA’s existing GIS systems. CFPUA is requesting statements of qualifications to initiate this professional service agreement for a valve assessment and maintenance program which serves the following primary purposes: • Evaluate and improve the operability of water valves in the distribution system through hands on field activities and to document and integrate the collected information on valves into CFPUA’s GIS system. • Provide a web-based project management dashboard allowing CFPUA to monitor the current state-of-the-art program, including statistical metrics on the assessment results of the assets, live throughout the project. • Perform discretionary infrastructure repair activities.
