Proposals may be hand delivered or mailed to the above location and must be received at such time. Scope of work: is to include all necessary labor, material and equipment for the removal and replacement of the old Melt Link-style fire dampers and associated equipment. The scope involves opening existing walls and ceilings to remove the existing dampers, installing the new dampers, and repairing the walls and ceilings where the dampers are located. This will also include the removal and installation of new fire alarm devices in accordance with the dampers. Additionally, the electrical contractor shall provide 3rd party inspection of their work. Testing of all the dampers and the fire alarm system will be conducted to ensure that the new dampers and fire alarm devices are functioning correctly. The work will take place at Community Hospital and will be conducted on the following floors: Basement, First, Second, Sixth, and the POB North Mini Deck. All work on this Contract is to be completed within 365 calendar days after the date of the Notice to Proceed Bidding and Contract Documents may be examined free of charge at the campus and at the following locations. SUNY Upstate, Design and Construction, 650 South Salina Street, 2nd floor, Syracuse, NY 13202. Complete sets of Contract Documents for bidding may ONLY be obtained from: Syracuse Blueprint Co Inc., 825 E Genesee St, Syracuse, NY 13210, (315) 476-4084 Section 143 of the State Finance Law requires payment of a deposit to receive these documents. Accordingly, a deposit check of $49.99 made payable to SUNY Upstate Medical University, is required. Deposits less than $50.00 are nonrefundable. Deposits will be waived for certified Minority and Women Owned and Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Businesses. (Under SFL 143 the campus has the option to waive the deposit requirement where bid documents “are made available and obtained electronically or in any non-paper form by the agency”. If the campus wishes to waive the deposit for all bidders, delete the above paragraph). A site visit to the area where the work is to be performed has been deemed to be necessary to fully understand the parameters and constraints which affect the preparation of the bid for the same. A mandatory site visit has been scheduled for Monday, June 8, 2026 at 10 AM with all contractors. All potential bidders will meet a in the main lobby at Community Hospital. All potential bidders are advised that they must sign a “Site Visit Form” to verify that they have complied with this requirement of the contract. Failure to fulfill this requirement will disqualify your bid proposal.
