OMH is seeking bids/proposals from qualified vendors to provide Chaplain Services. Scope of Work/Specifications The chaplain will work up to 25 hours per week, 52 weeks a year, providing Spiritual Services and conducting Roman Catholic Mass and nondenominational worship services for patients of the St.Lawrence Psychiatric Center and St. Lawrence Addiction Treatment Center (SLATC). Duties include: • Conduct two masses on Sunday (or other day mutually agreed upon between the facility and the contractor). One mass at the adult inpatient building, which may include patients from the SLATC, and one mass at the Sex Offender Treatment Program (SOTP) building. • Conduct two nondenominational services weekly, as necessary, during the absence or unavailability of a chaplain from another denomination. The date/time mutually agreed upon between the contractor and the facility. One service at the adult inpatient building, which may include patients from the SLATC, and one service at the SOTP building. Additional Duties (Monday – Saturday), schedule to be mutually agreed upon by the facility and the contractor: • Provide spiritual care and counseling to patients and their families; • Facilitate faith, spirituality, and related classes to patients in the adult inpatient & SOTP programs; • Attend meetings, including treatment team meetings, as requested by the facility, department, or treatment team; • Attend to the religious and spiritual needs of patients in the Children & Youth inpatient building as requested by the facility/treatment team; • Attend community events, as requested by the facility; • Facilitate therapeutic group sessions for patients; • Provide any of the aforementioned services to the patients at SLATC, when requested and approved by the facility Business Office; • Complete other related duties as requested by the facility. The contractor will routinely work 12 hours/week but may be required to work up to 25 hours/week based on the needs of the facility. Approval from the facility Business Office will be required if the contractor will work more than 25 hours in any one-week period. The contractor will be paid hourly based on actual time spent at the facility. Method of Award: This procurement is being conducted as [an Invitation for Bids (IFB) in accordance with applicable New York State procurement guidelines. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, as determined in accordance with the solicitation requirements. Review the solicitation thoroughly to determine eligibility. At a minimum, responding firms should demonstrate the following basic qualifications: 1) Include proof of having been in business performing the required type of service for at least 3 years.
