    The City of Fountain Valley (“City”) invites interested law firms to submit proposals for City Attorney legal services, as they are set forth in this Request for Proposals. The selected City Attorney and law firm must be qualified to provide legal expertise in the areas of general municipal law, land use and zoning law, building code compliance, nuisance abatement, public works contracts, labor relations and personnel law, contracts law, real estate law, environmental law, fees and taxes, open meetings and conflicts of interest, issues relating to police and fire service, and other related areas of law. The City Attorney is an independent contractor serving at the will of the City Council.The term of the agreement is three (3) years with two (2) additional one-year terms based on mutual agreement by both parties.
