    The City of Independence is seeking a qualified entity or individual to provide the goods and/or services described herein. The City anticipates selecting one firm to perform the services.

    Bids are requested from Companies that have a demonstrated ability to perform the tasks identified in this Invitation for Bid. Bids will be received until 11 AM on July 23, 2026

    This project consists of the milling of existing asphalt pavement and resurfacing with new asphalt pavement. Full depth pavement repairs for base and subgrade repairs are to be made as marked during construction. A minor amount of concrete work for curb and curb ramp replacement is included.

    Evaluation Criteria

    • Scope of Work

      This project consists of the milling of existing asphalt pavement and resurfacing with new asphalt pavement. Full depth pavement repairs for base and subgrade repairs are to be made as marked during construction. A minor amount of concrete work for curb and curb ramp replacement is included.

    • Sample Submittal

      All potential bidders must submit examples of three to five similar projects, completed under the bidding company's name, within a period of three years prior to the date of this bid. This submittal is to include both photographs and shop drawing examples. Potential bidders must also submit a written statement regarding their qualifications as they directly relate to this project along with their bid.

    • Alternate Materials and Methods

      All bids are to be based directly on the materials and fabrication techniques indicated in this drawing package. No alternates will be considered as part of the base bid. Any alternates suggested by the potential bidder must be quoted separately as alternates and must be accompanied by a complete description of the proposed alternate in order to be considered.

    • General

      Bids will be received until July 23, 2026 at 11:00 A.M., for the furnishing of labor and materials required for the City of Independence 2026 Street Resurfacing Program project, all in accordance with these instructions, conditions, specifications, and on the enclosed forms. Bids shall be submitted electronically using the Open Gov Procurement portal. Links to the bidding documents may be obtained at https://procurement.opengov.com/portal/cityofindependence. No bid may be withdrawn, once the bid has been deposited with the Owner, except in accordance with Kentucky Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, Section 102.11. Proposals received after the time for the opening of bids will be rejected and not reviewed. All bids shall remain valid for a period of sixty (60) days from the date of Bid Opening.
