    The City of Kingston, New York (the “City”) is undertaking a series of sustainability and infrastructure initiatives focused on reducing operating costs, improving energy efficiency, and lowering greenhouse gas emissions across municipal facilities and fleets. As part of these efforts, the City is evaluating the installation of a geothermal heating and cooling system and a grid-tied roof mount photovoltaic system as part of a fire station renovation project. In addition to the geothermal project, the City has previously acquired electric vehicles and expects to place into service additional electric refuse packers in the near term. These vehicles may be eligible for the Commercial Clean Vehicle Credit under Section 45W of the Internal Revenue Code, including vehicles that were subject to binding purchase contracts entered into prior to September 30, 2025.
