I. INVITATION FOR BIDS
Sealed bids in single copy for furnishing all labor, materials, equipment and performing all work described herein, will be received until 3:00 p.m., prevailing time, Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Nome City Hall, 102 Division Street, Nome, Alaska 99672. Bids will be opened and publicly read shortly thereafter at Nome City Hall.
The project will consist of supplying:
• 6,000 tons of Crushed Aggregate for Road Surface Course for City use.
Materials shall be delivered to City of Nome designated stockpile(s) as directed by the Public Works Director.
All work to supply up to 6,000 tons of Crushed Aggregate for Road Surface Course shall be completed by October 16, 2026.
In the event that the work is not completed by the specified completion date, liquidated damages in the amount of $500.00 per day shall be assessed for each day the period of performance extends beyond the completion date. Liquidated damages will cease when all requirements of this specification have been met.

II. INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS
Prices quoted shall be in U.S. funds and include applicable fees, permits, and incidental costs required to accomplish the work.
Bids shall be submitted on the forms furnished or copies thereof, and must be manually signed in ink. If erasures or other changes appear on the forms, each such erasure or change must be initialed by the person signing the proposal.
In case of error in the extension of price in the bid, the UNIT PRICE IN WORDS will govern.
Facsimile or telegraphic bids will not be considered. Facsimile modifications of bids already submitted will not be considered.
The bidder must have a current and valid Alaska Business License. Bidder must have a current City of Nome Sales Tax License.
Before a bid is considered for award, the bidder may be requested by the City of Nome to submit a statement of facts, in detail, as to his previous experience in performing comparable work, his business and technical organization, financial resources, plant and equipment available to be used in performing the work, pit or pits to be utilized, contractor’s quality control testing program, proposed production schedule, proposed delivery schedule, etc.

The Bid Documents provide for acknowledgment individually of all addenda on the Bid Form. All addenda shall be acknowledged on the Bid Form prior to reading or acceptance of bid. If no addenda are received by the bidder, the word "None" shall be shown as specified.
Reasonable effort will be made to ensure that bidders receive all addenda when issued. All bidders shall register with the City Clerk to ensure proper distribution of addenda. Addenda shall be sent via email to the individual or company requesting Bid Documents, and all bidders shall submit a valid email address to the City Clerk upon registration. The last date for issuing addenda will be 5:00 pm July 23, 2026.

Bids will be opened publicly and read aloud shortly after the time fixed for bid opening.
The City of Nome reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive formalities in the bidding and award process when deemed by the City of Nome to be in the best interest of the City.
For purposes of award, offers made in accordance with this solicitation shall be good and firm for thirty (30) days from the date of bid opening. If the Contract is to be awarded a purchase order incorporating the terms of this solicitation will be issued to the lowest, responsible and qualified bidder as soon as practicable and usually within 10 calendar days after opening bid.
