    Description

    The City of Camden Department of Planning & Development seeks proposals from qualified companies to administer and manage the City of Camden’s Camden Strong UEZ Commercial Improvement Program (the “Program”). The goal of the Commercial Improvement Program (CIP) is to promote exterior and interior improvements to commercial businesses in the City of Camden’s business corridors.  The Program will provide up to $75,000 of funding, in the form of a forgivable loan, for each selected new or existing business to rehabilitate deteriorating commercial building exteriors and interiors.  The budget for this program is $750,000.00 less the Administration and Management fee and will cover actual rehabilitation costs. The City anticipates funding improvements for approximately 10-15 businesses. Examples of eligible improvements include: Interior Fit-out. Electrical, plumbing, and other construction. Exterior painting. Removing inappropriate or incompatible exterior finishes and materials. Restoring exterior finishes and materials, or installation of safety glass. Recessing/reconfiguring of existing doors and entrances. Repairing or replacing existing storefront window systems. Repair, replacement, or removal of signs attached to buildings. Repair or replacement of exterior building and sign lighting, exterior lighting fixtures, or display area lighting. Repair or replacement of awnings.
