This Request for Proposals (the “RFP”) is an invitation by The National Housing Development Trust (“NHDT”), to prospective respondents to construct ten (10) new affordable housing units, with a minimum of two (2) and a maximum of four (4) homes per contractor, at Birch Tree Heights, West Bay, Grand Cayman in accordance with the approved plans supplied by the NHDT in Section A of the RFP Particulars (Appendix D) (the “Deliverables”). The NHDT is a government-owned not-for-profit company, registered under section 80 of the Cayman Islands Companies Act (2023 Revision) to provide the following: • housing; • accommodations; • assistance to help house people; • associated facilities and amenities; • loans and advances and the giving of guarantee; and • housing repairs for the benefit of the people of the Cayman Islands. As a government entity, the Trust is guided by the registered Articles of Association and is subject to the Public Management and Finance Act (PMFA) and the newly established Public Authorities Act (2020 Revision). The NHDT’s activities are an important factor in the economic development of the Cayman Islands by providing Caymanians with homes at an affordable price. NHDT intends to award multiple contracts under this solicitation to promote equitable participation among qualified small and medium contractors.
