The Contractor will be required to coordinate construction activities with the City. All work shall conform to City of DeSoto construction standards and in accordance with the contract drawings and specification documents. All Work must be completed within 450 Calendar days of the issuance of a Notice to Proceed.All bids shall be accompanied by a bid bond from a reliable surety (with the appropriate “Power of Attorney”) or by a cashier’s or certified check upon a national or state bank in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total maximum bid, as a guarantee that bidder will enter into a contract and execute performance, payment and maintenance bonds within ten (10) days after notice of award of contract to the company.The successful bidder must furnish a performance bond and a payment bond (with the appropriate “Power of Attorney”) in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, and a maintenance bond (with the appropriate “Power of Attorney”) in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price from an approved surety company holding a permit from the State of Texas to act as surety of other surety or sureties acceptable to the City of DeSoto. The maintenance bond shall be in effect for a period of two (2) years after final acceptance of the work. Please review the RFP documents for the entire list of bid submittal documents.While use of subcontractors is permitted, all bidders are informed that a minimum of fifty-one (51%) percent of the construction work must be performed by the General Contractor of record for the project. All bidders will be required to comply with provision 5159a of “Vernon’s Annotated Civil Statutes” of the State of Texas with respect to the payment of prevailing wage rates.A pre-bid conference will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 30, 2026 in the City Council Conference Room located at 211 East Pleasant Run Road, DeSoto, Texas.Questions or comments regarding this RFB must be received in writing by no later than 5:00 PM on Wednesday, May 06, 2026 by Connor Mitchell, Purchasing Manager at the DeSoto Town Center, Development Services Department, 211 E.
