    Description

    General work description:

    The District of Columbia Department of General Services (“DGS” or the “Department”), on behalf of the Office of the Secretary of the District of Columbia, is issuing this Invitation for Bids (“IFB”) to engage a Contractor (the “Contractor”) to provide all necessary services, supervision, permits, labor, supplies, equipment, and materials to perform construction services for New Department of Aging and Community Living (“DACL”) Ward 8 Senior Wellness Center (the “Project”) located at 1700 Q Street, SE Washington, DC 20020. The Contractor shall complete the Project’s requirements in accordance with this IFB to include, but not limited to, Section C, Specifications/Scope of Work (“SOW”), and Attachment J.1, Specifications and Drawings, and other attachments identified in Section J of this IFB.

     

    The Department intends to make one (1) contract award to the bidder who submits the lowest bid that is responsive and responsible. To this end, the Department will evaluate bids submitted in the Offer Letter and Bid Form (Attachment J.2) consistent with the price-related evaluation factors identified in the IFB.

    Background

    The Contractor will be required to construct the 13,000 square-foot-base building, ground-up, new Ward 8 Senior Wellness Center where seniors can congregate for recreation and general well-being. The new Center will be constructed within the existing Kramer Middle School Parking lot grounds located at 1700 Q Street, SE, Washington, DC 20020, with support spaces that promote senior wellness activities, such as a gym, meeting rooms, and educational space.
