    Description

    The City of Avondale invites Quotes from qualified vendors for the supply of Concrete Finishing Tools, Hand Tools, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and related construction supplies in accordance with the specifications and provisions contained in this Request for Quotations ("RFQ") on an as-needed basis (the “Material”) for a period of 12 months.

    The City intends to award to one or more Bidders. Materials may be obtained through delivery or vendor pickup, as specified in this RFQ.

    Background

    This RFQ intends to establish pricing and an overall category discount for low-volume and routine purchases of concrete finishing and related construction materials. The City intends to award contracts to one or more bidders capable of supplying all items listed in the Pricing Table and offering a category discount for additional related items within the defined categories. Materials may be obtained through delivery or vendor pickup.

    Select items are included in the Pricing Table solely to allow the City to evaluate pricing. The City may purchase additional items within each category based on the awarded discount.”

    Evaluation Criteria

    • Scope of Work

      The awarded contractor(s) shall furnish and deliver the Materials described herein on an as-needed basis during the term of the Agreement. Materials may be obtained through delivery or vendor pickup, as specified in this RFQ.

      All items shall be new, unused, and suitable for heavy-duty municipal construction operations.

    • Category 1 - Concrete Finishing Tools

      Includes concrete finishing tools and related equipment necessary for forming, smoothing, leveling, and finishing concrete surfaces, including but not limited to:

      • Hand trowels
      • Pool trowels
      • Fresno trowels
      • Magnesium floats
      • Wood floats
      • Bull floats
      • Edgers and groovers
      • Scrapers
      • Finishing brushes
      • Saw-Cutting Blades

      All tools shall be professional-grade and designed for heavy-duty construction applications.

    • Category 2 – Hand Tools & Accessories

      Includes general construction hand tools and accessories used in support of concrete and field operations, including but not limited to:

      • Adhesive and epoxy dispensing tools
      • Sprayers and hose assemblies
      • Forming stakes
      • Extension handles and replacement handles
      • Utility knives
      • Mixing paddles
      • Miscellaneous construction hand tools
      • Forming boards

      Items shall be durable, commercial-quality products suitable for repeated field use.

    • Category 3 - Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

      Includes personal protective equipment and safety-related items necessary for construction and concrete finishing operations, including but not limited to:

      • Knee protection
      • Work gloves (various sizes and materials)
      • Safety glasses
      • Dust masks and respiratory protection
      • Hard hats and head protection
      • Rubber concrete boots

      All PPE shall meet applicable OSHA, ANSI, or other required industry standards.

    • Category 4 - Adhesives & Specialty Products

      Includes bonding agents, hydraulic cement, joint materials, and related specialty construction products, including but not limited to:

      • Rapid-set cement
      • Epoxy anchoring systems
      • Bonding agents
      • Joint fillers
      • Curing compounds
      • Concrete-related chemical products

      Products shall be suitable for commercial and municipal applications.

    • Delivery Requirements

      Materials may also be obtained through vendor pickup.

      Standard in-stock items shall be delivered within ten (10) business days after receipt of order unless otherwise agreed.

      Lead times for non-stock or special-order items shall be provided at the time of order.

      The contractor shall notify the City of any anticipated delays or backorders.
