    Description

Create a public mosaic mural to be installed on the face of a retaining wall located at Hewitt Park. The wall is approximately 26’- 6 ¾”, 32’-1”, 13’-5 ¼” long and is made up of three distinct but connected sections. The mural must be a mosaic entirely comprised of colored tiles or other materials that are permanent by nature (ceramic tile, glass, metals, etc.). The mural must create an image or images that reflect the history of Oroville including mining, railroad, trains, Feather River, Table Mountain, The Oroville Dam, Logging, etc. The location of the mural wall is located on a retaining wall that is the foundational base of a gazebo/picnic area and is the terminus of a water feature within the park. The water feature/splash pad has been designed as a fun homage to the rail history of Oroville complete with a faux track that terminates at the base of the mural. The design of which is meant to have a mural that suggests a train will continue along the tracks on to the faux rails.
