Notice is hereby given that the Planning & Community Development of the City of Joplin, Missouri, will receive a sealed bid to make the following improvements in the City of Joplin, Missouri. The Planning & Community Development Manager reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to accept the lowest or best bid. The winning bidder must comply with all municipal codes and state regulatory requirements including but not limited to: Notify the City of Joplin building division of the time and date the demolition. Coordinate with the Asbestos Contractor during the removal and demolition process. Attention Contractors: The City of Joplin is currently accepting bids for the garage structure at 119 ½ S. Moffet Ave. The demolition specification listed below due to the current condition of the interior of the north half which collapsed. The roofing materials contain non-friable, 3% of Chrysotile in a single layer of silver paint on asphalt material. The scope of work covered by the sealed submitted bid will be as follows: A roll off provided by the Asbestos Abatement contractor who will then be responsible for monitoring the removal and proper disposal of all identified asbestos materials listed in the report summary. The demolition contractor will be responsible for the removal with PPE provided and with considerations of the following: The roll off is to be set in the alley, the east wall is to be removed to access the collapsed roof materials from the interior. 4FT of the south and west wall are to be left intact for the purpose of retaining wall supporting the yard of 119 S Moffet. 6FT of the north wall is to be left intact to support the yard of 115 S. Moffet Ave. Please have a landfill address or GPS as well as BOL or Bill of Lading upon request. Further specifications are on file in the office of the Planning & Community Development Manager, 602 S. Main Street 4th Floor. The successful bidder will be required to be licensed, Bonded and insured as a contractor of the City of Joplin, Missouri.
