Each bidder is responsible for mailing or hand delivering its bid so that it will be received at the above address and location at or before the time of the specified bid opening; bids received after that time will not be considered. An optional Pre-Bid Conference will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. local time in Conference Room 130 at Madison City Hall located at 100 Hughes Road, Madison, Alabama 35758. The City is seeking to award a contract for occasional demolition services to demolish and remove blighted properties for which the City Council has issued a demolition order. The performance of this contract will be on an as-needed basis and will be awarded for a term of up to three (3) years. Properties that may be subject to demolition pursuant to this bid include commercial and residential structures of various sizes and may include any or all structures, appurtenances, improvements, and items on the property, whether or not attached to or apart of the main structure, including, but not limited to, houses, mobile or manufactured homes, trailers, garages, sheds, carports, other accessory structures, pools, as well as any items located therein or on the subject property, including, junk, rubbish, trash, litter, grass and weeds as defined by the City’s grass and weed abatement ordinance, junked motor vehicles, and/or any other matter declared a nuisance under existing law. City demolition permits will be required. Asbestos testing and abatement by a City contractor may precede the demolition services, depending on the results of an asbestos assessment, which the City will perform. All work is to be performed per the general and technical specifications and plans contained in the Invitation to Bid packet. To be eligible for award, submitted bids must be completed on original bid forms provided in the bid packet and may not be faxed or emailed. Only properly licensed general contractors per Alabama law may submit a bid. No pre-qualification is required for this project.
