    Description

    The State University of New York at Stony Brook (herein after referred to as "SUNY”) is soliciting qualifications from consultants to provide design services for permanent structural stability and exterior envelop for the Southhampton Windmill at Stony Brook University, Stony Brook, New York in accordance with SUNY at Stony Brook 2526-080MC RFQ (Request for Qualification) and Exhibits. The 300+ year old windmill was moved to its present location in 1890. It is a three-story structure that originally functioned as a mill but was also later used as a playhouse and an apartment. In recent years, Stony Brook University repaired and replaced the yoke and sails and completed additional structural repairs. The sails have since been removed due to structural stability concerns. Preparation of an existing conditions report of the Southampton Windmill, approximately ±1,348 SQ. FT. in total. Assessment to include, but shall not be limited to, all exterior envelope and fenestration, roofing, foundations, building structure, site and building accessibility, moisture testing and mitigation, water infiltration, and waterproofing. Destructive testing and analysis as recommended by the design consultant. Report to indicate all conditions with priorities and order of magnitude costs for exterior repairs, renovations, and permanent structural stabilization including return of sails to the yoke for University consideration. Present final report plus provide any additional requests mentioned in the Scope of Work and in 2526-080MC.
