Detention Center Inmate Food Services

The Lancaster County Detention Center (LCDC) is requesting proposals of a vendor to provide food services for our inmate population.  It is the intent that the chosen vendor will provide support services, as well as potentially service staff for seven days a week for a population of approximately 200 inmates. Vendors are encouraged to present forward-thinking solutions that balance quality, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.

Our goal with this Request for Proposals is to enter into a contract with a qualified and experienced food service provider capable of delivering nutritious, safe, and culturally appropriate meals in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The selected vendor must demonstrate their ability to manage menu planning, food preparation, sanitation, and special dietary requirements while maintaining consistent service standards. Emphasis will be placed on operational reliability, flexibility to adjust to population changes, and a collaborative approach with detention center staff to ensure efficient and secure food service operations. The Inmate Food Services as listed in this proposal shall be awarded to the vendor providing the most beneficial proposal as determined by Lancaster County.
