Contract period will run from July 1, 2027 through June 30, 2030. $240,000 for all three years is available for this contract.

    These playgroups were originally funded in 2024 in response to feedback from Sacramento County parents in focus groups about what First 5 Sac should support in the coming strategic plan. They have successfully been offered by UC Davis MIND Institute since fall of 2024.

    • Overview of What First 5 Sacramento Is Looking For

      First 5 is looking for a contractor who could deliver developmental playgroups at least twice a week for one hour in Sacramento County; playgroups must utilize the Pivotal Response Treatment protocol (PRT) and take place at least 32 weeks per year for each of the three years of the contract. Contractor will be required to recruit families primarily from ZIP codes within Sacramento County with greater than 25% child poverty rates. Playgroups may be hosted in community settings such as family resource centers, libraries, etc., and/or at contractor's location. Ideally, groups will serve 8 children per session. Accessibility for families who speak a language other than English must be accommodated.
