    Description

This DRI 4: project (Downtown Staten Island: Renovate the Lyons Pool Complex and Spray Play Area) would redesign and renovate the dilapidated spray play area within the Lyons Pool Complex as part of a larger renovation currently being planned. The proposed project will be implemented by the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation (Parks), which manages the site and all other public parks in the City of New York. Work would include new fixtures, drainage, grade changes, and flush transitions to ensure a modern accessible play area. This project will repurpose and transform the closed off and shuttered pool complex to deliver a newly usable recreation amenity in a neighborhood in Staten Island with limited recreational facilities. Work will result in a new recreational destination in the heart of downtown Staten Island providing a much-needed resource and furthering the vision and goals put forth by the local community as part of the Downtown Staten Island Strategic Investment Plan.
